Secondly, another favorite of mine, Ray Lamontange a native of Maine who has only been on the world radar since 2004 with his debut CD Trouble (which I bought the day after hearing the title track) is finally set to release his third CD Gossip In The Grain in October. His single, You Are The Best Thing is catchy, upbeat but with Ray’s unmistakable gravely intonations. I am very anxious to get my hands on this gem. His second CD Till The Sun Turns Black, was just that… black and very, very soulful almost cavernous in it’s ability to suck you into it’s depths. I already have enough trouble keeping up my sunny disposition so I wasn’t too thrilled with this CD. I am hoping that this new CD follows suit in its emotional journey from the single. "Ray LaMontange
A bit of trivia about Mr. LaMontange.. he became a singer because of Stephen Stills and his song Tree Top Flyer. It was hearing that song one night that made him decide to take up the guitar and sing. Thanks Stephen for lighting this man on fire.Go ahead and take a listen I think you will like both.

I will indeed take a listen, Prudence. Your impeccable musical taste has guided me along some wonderful routes to date and I look forward to these.
The new LB album was on my wish list anyway, having read a rave review in The Guardian this week.
Great stuff!
If you've not heard Ray you will love him. Not unlike early Tom Waits in his vocal sound.
Hey, does that guy work at Wal*Mart?
Gosh I always feel I've been locked in a cupboard all my life when you and Dive talk music!!! Will try and search them out - my education needs improving!!!
great sounds, sugar! adding both to my wishlist on amazon now! xoxo
OMG these guys are such "has beens" hee hee
Ah... now is not the time to remember that my laptop is mute and so is the cottage computer. In addition, I have lost my iPod and we don't have a working CD player anywhere here. LaMontagne I do know and like, but I have never heard of the guy who makes animal noises. Why so and does he grunt?
Ariel, Lindsay Buckingham is very well known as a big part of Fleetwood Mac. He has had quite a glorious solo career. He grunts and makes noises along with the music as a emphasis. His guitar playing is unbelievable.
Till the sun turns black - good song
Oh hey, that sounds good. I've always enjoyed Lindsey Buckingham.
I was also surprised to hear Robert Plant singing with Allison Krauss this summer. They make a great duet!
By the way, it's great to hear from you again. :)
I saw it is raining in NH this morning?
Sounds like something Old Dive would love! Although I don't mind a Spanish guitar :D
Thanks for visiting A Pinay In England!
Happy Thanksgiving Prudence! Hope you enjoy the holiday. xx
